“Patience is a virtue”
Sometimes I think about that quote. And I think about my ongoing situation with my Pet, being several hours apart, being unable to meet and forward our relationship as often as either of us wish, being patient for months on end, and in some cases years (don’t get me started on what we endured during COVID). But the good news is; we’re going to have a meeting this year after all.

At the end of September, we managed to collab and schedule a meeting, and not just a day or two together and separate for another 6-8 months. We managed to eke out three whole days to spend time together, to have our time and oh yes to play. PLAY Dammit! Definitely makes recent acquisitions worth it. Y’know?
Given how patient we’ve both been in all of this time, I think we have the market cornered on virtue. I might even go so far as to say if either of us were religious, given our current situation, we might have had a chance of being Pope, if we had a pony in that race.

Yeah, probably not. And neither of us would be interested in living at Vatican City, having to convert to Catholicism, but the perks might just make it worth it? I can’t imagine there haven’t been a few clergy that were kinky over the years. Where else would purveyors of porn have come up with latex nuns? But I digress.
Actually, to be honest; this whole discussion of patience came from a post a friend of mine made yesterday. She and her Dom are having a bit of an issue coming up with the time for play of their own, and the topic of patience came up. I made a quick comment about my own issues with patience, and she, knowing quite well of my situation (and being over the top sympathetic, which is something that I adore about her-among other things) was super supportive, even while reminding that she can only ever speak about her ‘side’ of the issue, being a submissive, which I understand of course. And so, here we are.
Sometimes you just have to be patient in order to get your time. Or your reward. So in conclusion the above quote really doesn’t do it for me anymore. While I was doing a little research on it, I came across another one that says more, and resonates with me. And here it is:
“Patience attracts happiness, it brings near that which is far.” – Swahili Proverb
Oh I like that second quote a lot. Thanks for sharing it. I am so so glad that you and your pet are going to have a chance to be together this year! You’ve definitely earned rewards – maybe not being pope, but good things come in your way. 🤣💜
I’m reasonably sure I wouldn’t make a very good Pope anyway. I like Italy, but I’m not sure I want to live there permanently. We’re both pretty giddy that we were able to make this work. And we’re doing our best not to make the same missteps that we did the last couple of times we met; trying to cram too many things into not enough time, scheduling play in the evening when we were both already pretty tired from doing things all day, that never seemed to be a good idea. Play earlier in the day, THEN go out and do stuff.
We’re both determined that this visit will be more fun and less dramatic! And will help us make it through the winter in better stead.
i quite like your new quote!! <3
i'm very happy to hear that FINALLY you two are able to carve out some time for 'fun'!! can't wait to see what you have to post then *wink* <3
Thank you! It just popped up during a search about the first one, and it said so much more.
Oh my goodness, I was beginning to wonder if we would ever get time this year. With only four weeks of vacation to work with, summertime being so busy with numerous responsibilities, and we’ve been discussing this issue since late winter.
Between rope adventures, testing out the Sybian and massage table, and other minutiae (Wharternburg wheel anyone?), there WILL be at least one post and perhaps more after the visit. So stay tuned!
ooohhh i can’t wait! i’m excited to hear but mostly excited for the two of you!! 😀
