Oh, the Possibilities!

[2 April] I did a thing yesterday afternoon.

My pet and I have been planning our visit(s) for 2025 and have been discussing methods of play as well as how best to accomplish them. One of the things we’ve been discussing is a change in the way that we do our play, ie not exclusively using my old spanking bench. Mostly because it’s in the shape of a triangle, and it doesn’t easily lend itself to things like wax play, or bondage or a myriad of other things that a flatter service could offer. So, for at least a year we’ve discussed possibly adding a massage table to our arsenal.

Lately I’ve been keeping an eye on the prices of portable massage tables on sites like eBay and Amazon, and discovered that there are definitely some bargains to be had. Of course, I did a little research before picking just any old one, and made sure what I was planning on getting fit into what we needed and would be able to use. I figure if it could hold my weight, then it should be fine for most anyone. Once I had the nerve and the information I needed, I pulled the trigger and purchased one from eBay. And it only took a few days before it was delivered.

Once it arrived, I took a few days before taking it out of the box and setting it up. No issues at all with the setup, it’s pretty straightforward when it comes to putting it together. It even comes with a protective bag so when you’re transporting it (only weighs about 32 lbs/14.5 kg) there’s little chance of banging up the leather cover, which is a very nice touch. It’s pretty sturdy, and I tested it out on myself, to see how comfortable it was/wasn’t, and it turned out to be fairly comfortable. Granted it’s not super soft, but it’s just a leather cover over minimal padding over wood. It’s not a recliner, it’s a table.

Now, granted it may have been designed with the idea of being a massage table, but the nice thing about such items is, they can be changed to suit the needs of the person(s) that purchase/make use of them. My pet suggested we could make use of it when it comes to wax play, as well as a more stable base for certain types of rope play, as well as being able to secure her to it either in the prone position, as well as the head and foot areas that can be elevated. With a minimal amount of hardware, we can attach hard points to the table to attach cuffs, and that brings a whole new slew of possibilities to the fore. Sometimes the sky really is the limit with these things, and you don’t have to pay someone $1000 for something that can be had for less than $100.

All in all, I think it was a pretty good investment. Coupled with the used Sybian I recently acquired, I’m starting to rebuild a pretty nice collection for my pet and I to use when she comes to visit. Now it’s just a matter of getting her here, and making good use of the time that we’ll have. It certainly will be enjoyable exploring all the iterations this purchase affords.

Maybe a collapsible St. Andrew’s cross is next?
